Daisy VoxBox | Influenster

I signed up on Influenster to write reviews for products I love and to receive complimentary products that I have never tried to review. Reviewing products and being a beauty consultant is what I love most. I received a free, I repeat FREE Daisy VoxBox by Influenster full of products to try and I have to say-I LOVED IT!

Here is a list of the products I received and what I think of each of them.

Nature's Bounty Probiotic Gummies #BetterOffHealthy
I think taking probiotics is so important for your digestive health. Prior to receiving the gummies I was taking probiotics in pill form. I hated the pills because they tasted bad and were powdery. Therefore, I did not take them consistently. I LOVE these gummies. It is my favorite product I got from this box. I will definitely continue to purchase them. They taste delicious (it's almost tempting to eat more than the regular dose of 2).

SkinnyPop Sea Salt Microwave Popcorn #skinnypop #skinnypoplove
I have tried the SkinnyGirl popcorn and did not care for it. This tastes way better and I love the pop up box it comes in. I don't eat popcorn often and probably wouldn't purchase this but I did enjoy it.

Always Infinity Size 2 pads #AlwaysatTarget
LOVED.THESE. I feel like as a petite person it is difficult to find a pad that gets the job done but doesn't feel like a diaper. I happened to get my box 2 days before my period so this worked out really well. I never had any issues and will definitely be purchasing these.

LiveClean Coconut Milk Moisturizing Shampoo and ConditionerI am always looking for new shampoos and conditioners to try. Especially natural ones. I have enjoyed these so far. No complaints!

Yes to Tomatoes detoxifying charcoal paper mask
Not. a. fan. I have used many Yesto products-including a lot of products from the grapefruit line. This mask burned my skin. I did not like it and would not recommend it.

Overall, the VoxBox experience has been fantastic. Free products to try and they're good products from known brands which I like.

*Disclaimer: While I received these products complimentary, all opinions are my own.*

2016 Book Review

When I graduated with my MBA in May 2015 I went straight to Barnes & Noble and spent $100 on non-academic books. I was anxious to start reading for leisure. Growing up I was always a bookworm but lost interest in college when I became swamped with stacks of journal articles, academic literature and writing papers. I discovered Audible.com in 2016 and dove into reading books again. Here is the list of books I read or listened to in 2016.

  1. Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah
  2. How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnagie
  3. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire-J.K. Rowling
  4. Today Will Be Different-Maria Semple
  5. Meditations-Marcus Aurelius
  6. The Nightingale-Kristin Hannah
  7. What She Left Behind-Ellen Marie Wiseman
  8. The Girls-Emma Cline
  9. Find the Good-Heather Lends
  10. The Confidence Gap-Steven Hayes
  11. Presence-Amy Cuddy
  12. The Apothecary’s Daughter-Charlotte Betts
  13. The Winter Sea-Susanna Kearsley
  14. Maybe in Another Life-Taylor Jenkins Reid
  15. Sapiens-Yuval Noah Harari
  16. The Alchemist-Paulo Coelho
  17. The Power of Habit-Charles Duhigg
  18. The Buddha Walks into a Bar-Lodzo Rinzler
  19. The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People-Stephen Covey
  20. The Introvert Entrepreneur-Beth Barlow
  21. Big Magic-Elizabeth Gilbert
  22. The Four Agreements-Don Miguel Ruiz
  23. The Addictive Brain
  24. The Chimes-Charles Dickens
  25. The Pursuit of God-A.W.Toze
  26. The Nest by Cynthia D'Aprix Sweeney
  27. Essentialism by Greg McKeown

  1. Seven Brief Lessons on Physics by Carlo Rovelli
  2. Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur
  3. Moonwalking with Einstein by Joshua Foer
  4. I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai
  5. The Defining Decade by Meg Jay
  6. GirlBoss by Sophia Amoruso
  7. Creative, Inc
  8. The Mastery of Love by Don Miguel Ruiz
  9. Jane Eyre by Emily Bronte
  10. Call Me Zelda by Erika Robuck
  11. Beautiful Ruins by Jess Walker
  12. The Bingo Theory by Mimi Ikonn
  13. The Versions of Us by Laura Barnett

By far my favorite book of 2016 is 7 Brief Lessons on Physics by Carlo Rovelli. My goal for 2017 is to read a lot more books. Audio books are so easy and great for commuting. I drive a lot for work and it is convenient but nothing is better than having a real book in your hands.

Over the past few months I have picked up a few goodies from Sephora. (You can purchase several of these things at Ulta as well). Sephora is currently having their "A Love Note" shopping event which gives 15% off to all Sephora Beauty Insiders, VIB members and VIB Rouge.

The coupon code for Rouge members is ROUGENOTE if you are shopping online.

They are currently having a really good sale and some of the items include the Gwen Stefani collection by Urban Decay. Today is the LAST day to shop!

Watch my Sephora haul video to see some of the items you can buy.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Preview | Holiday 2015

Hello Hunnybees!

One of the perks of being a Sephora VIB Rouge member is getting early access to brand new goodies. The second I got the e-mail that I was able to purchase the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Holiday palette I did. Like for seriously, I bought it within seconds.

I had seen several sneak peaks of the palette on Instagram and fell in love. These powders are my holy grail products for weddings, pictures and for just looking damn fine at any time! They make your skin look radiant, smooth and perfected.

Many reviews are saying negative things about the price of the product for what you actually get. A full size Ambient Lighting Powder is 0.35 oz. for $45. The Holiday Palette has six Ambient Lighting Powders at 0.049 oz. each for $80. That is a very steep price to pay for such little product, especially in comparison to one full size powder. Here is a comparison of the full size Ambient Lighting Powder and last year's Holiday trio so you can compare the size of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit.

- 0.049 oz Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light
- 0.049 oz Ambient Lighting Blush in Luminous Flush

My thoughts on the palette:

These powders are so finely milled to perfection that they will last you a VERY long time. I still have my Ambient Lighting Palette trio from Holiday 2014 and have barely put a dent in it and I use it all the time. While it is a high price to pay for such little product, it is convenient to have a perfect medley of face powders all in one compact that isn't too large and is easy to to take with you on the go. The quality is just as good as the full size products. The price is high but if you are a lover and collector of makeup like myself, it is worth the price tag.
